Yes, it is but you would have to offer at least a six month rental. Also assoc. rules apply-some prohibit rentals.

You can purchase and rent for part of the year however most tenants are looking for a 6 month or more comonly 1 year lease. That said, a shorter term is possible just a matter of finding the tenant. Also, the condo rules should be reviewed as they may prohibit less than a year lease.

Hi Scott,
Mike Schneider hit the nail on the head. The most important aspect is to make sure the condo association allows it. If there are no restrictions in the condo documents, you'll have no problem legally with renting it out. If you need any help searching for a property in the city, please drop me a line...773-720-0337, aharris24@yahoo.com, www.property-chicago.com.
Thanks!

that depends on the condo association affiliated with your purchase....some will not let you 'rent" at all....some will allow you to rent after one year of residence....and some dont care if youre an investor and purchase just to rent out....
so i hope that helps....keep in mind...before you purchase...
request info regarding that issue..but get that in writing..dont trust just verbal...you can make a huge mistake and you have no leverage.....
happy new year...
