There is a universal core that exists and then there are things that differentiate us. Competence is general, skill set is individual.

Hey Tom, here are some of the most important core competencies that I think Realtors need.

Problem solving, strategic in nature, great communication skills and being able to work in a pretty ambiguous environment.

Realtor's are thrown into some pretty tough situations on a regular basis. They are expected to assess that situation and develop a plan that meets the needs of their clients. All of the competencies mentioned above are pretty important in this process with the most important one possibly being communication skills.
