Fans of the “Twilight” films and novels will know that Bella, the mortal girl who comes into very close contact with a covenant of “vegetarian” vampires, is utterly fascinated with the house they live in the moment she sets eyes on it. Now for all the Twilight fans I here are some interesting news. The home used in “Twilight: New Moon” film opening today, as the residence for Edward and the rest of the Cullen family is up for sale for $3.3 million. This is not the Hoke home that was featured in the first movie ( also featured here on Freshome ). The 5,000 sq ft, five-bedroom property is located on half an acre on a creek-side lot in West Vancouver.
The propriety was designed by noted architect Arthur Erickson and totally renovated in 2001. Just after the “New Moon” filming was completed, the owners decided to capitalize on the fame and publicity and the Twilight house is now on the market. If you are interested in the “Twilight: New Moon” house you can find more info from Jason Soprovich, the agent who is selling this home.
Sometimes I just want to want to work attentively without any disturbance, and the Rewrite Desk designed by GamFratesi is an awesome place to take your productivity to another level. This desk was awarded with Denmark’s Walk the Plank Award 2009 for excellence and craftsmanship in furniture. Showcased at GamFratesi’s solo show at The Danish Museum of Art and Design, the workstation features a cave-like shield that installs a big screen, upholstered and covered with textile to highlight its visual and acoustic aspects, so it can be used as a satellite desk wherever you like. The workstation by the Copenhagen-based designer combines the traditional form with modern technology, while a white lacquered metal box hides all the cables underneath the table, allowing a clutter-free workspace on the table. – Via – Dezeen
The Cornered Coffee Table by Dylan Gold is a coffee table that encourages clean surface space by giving your magazines and table books a home. Here are a few words about this table from the website that sells this coffee table : “Take your average coffee table, construct one leg as a cross-section of a rotated cube and you get a table that values a clean surface area without losing a place to hold your favorite books and magazines. The Cornered coffee table embodies the inherent function of all coffee tables. ” Finally I think that this idea is pretty clever, but not at $1.900. – Via – Doubletakesblog

One piece of furniture trickery standing upright on only two legs, this pair of Shadow Chairs by British designer Chris Duffy seems to defy everything we knew about gravity. It looks like the lack of back legs is being substituted by the apparent black shadow that is part of the chair’s metal frame and functions as its base. A creative composition that is made from walnut wood and steel, the Shadow Chairs retail for something close to $1,200, but there’s no assurance the average American won’t break it. However it does the job right in fooling your guests – at least for the first time. – Via
Wall art is an increasingly popular way to spice up your home’s decor in these days. There are a wide range of options to choose from and, thanks to ever-advancing digital print and reproduction technologies, the quality is constantly increasing, while the price continues to fall. This makes having your own, unique wall art a very real possibility. Today I would like to present you an interesting wall art idea inspired by those vintage black and white prints that were originally used on a roll to show the next destination for bus, tram and trolley stops. They’ve since become intriguing pieces of art and unique displays of personality for the home. If you are interested in this personalized bus roll on framed canvas you can get one from here.
The creative folks from JM Architecture have been commissioned to redecorate an apartment in Como, Italy — and by the looks of it, they’ve done a sterling job. The biggest concern was to keep the original shape and the shell intact, yet bring a minimalist flavor to the whole invading living space. On top of bringing new functionality to the flat, it’s the extensive use of wood (lovely hardwood floors in there), the steel beam assembled staircase with open treads, the white finished walls and the stylish lighting that got our eyes. Kudos to JM Architecture for turning an old space into such a modern apartment!
The essence of Japanese traditional sitting life style arranged with time and space is making a space which can change multipurposely. Just the variety of this simple life, is a sense of beauty of Japanese living which goes in present-day. Japanese interior design makes careful use of space and light and always takes into account the concept of yin and yang. The Zataku dining table from Hara Design is cool furniture for anyone who likes to decorate their home on minimalist Japanese style. Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects Builders is an architecture, construction and interior design company with headquarters in the Cape Cod Villages of Chatham and Osterville, Massachusetts. House At Harding Shores Overlook is a residential project overlooking beautiful landscapes. The architects say that it was “designed to take advantage of water views from every room, has an airy, cottage feeling with its bead board detailing and walls painted the colors of sea and sky, sand and beach glass”. The house has a beautiful and classic exterior, with mellow colors and a wooden roof finish, but don’t be fooled by how it looks on the outside. The place is very modern in terms of utilities and latest high-living trends. Some features really caught our attention: a master suite surrounded by windows, giving it a 180 degree panoramic view to Buck’s Creek, an outside fireplace and the children’s rooms with bunk beds, a display of color and fun.
Zaha Hadid is known for her futuristic projects and for her numerous international competition awards. Her newest design is striking in terms of resources and scales. The National Museum of the XXI Century Arts, or the MAXXI Museum has recently been opened for the public in Rome, a city most know for its ancient values, rather than modern buildings and technology. The colossal building is located close to the Flaminio Station, reachable by Metro. It took 10 years to build and it evolved impressive sums of money. It is said that no major exhibitions are yet programmed, but we’ve heard names like Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha and Anish Kapoor whose works will most likely be presented. -via Jaunted

The luxurious house has four king-size bedrooms, four bathrooms, a two car garage and a separate entertainment area which features an infinity swimming pool. Extra storage rooms are also available. We invite you to check out the pictures below and tell us what you think. - Via
In this post you are going to see something that I like to call “Architecture in Motion”. Created by architect Giselbrecht + Partner ZT GmbH this amazing project is called “Dynamic Facade” better known as the Kiefer Technic Showroom in Bad Gleichenberg, Austria. In earlier times, facades were characterized by window arrangements and axes. They often featured surface relief with architectural elements from the relevant period or style. The structure of the facade also determined the ground plan; the greater the number of window axes in a room, the more important the function of the user. With the introduction of window strips, these hierarchies were abandoned. Today it is possible that the complete exterior facade is transparent, and this very transparency indicates a modern character. At the same time, individual requirements escalate and need to be reconciled with the desire for comfort.
For this reason the architects have been working for some time with dynamic facades that can be adapted individually to changing conditions and needs. Of course they can also be controlled by optimizing programs if users are not present in the rooms behind. Thus it is possible to realize these new transparent facades and yet still maintain a cosy atmosphere in the rooms. This facade changes continuously; each day, each hour shows a new “face” – the facade is turning into a dynamic sculpture.
Finally if these pictures got your attention then the video with this facade in action will blow your mind, just press play if you don’t believe me … is pretty amazing.

Simone Micheli’s Shift Chair is the perfect piece of furniture for all computer addicts. They will surely admire the new product brought to you by Simone Micheli. Unlike the traditional keyboard this one is so soft you would not want to get up. The only problem with this chair especially in this recenssion could be the price that is €2614 from NoMadeDesign. – Via – Unplggd
For those of you who follow us on Twitter ( you can follow us on Twitter here – @freshome) this might be an interesting post because Twitter moved into a new, much larger office in San Francisco. The space, which was previously Bebo’s SF office, is right around the corner from their old one. The space was decorated by a few members of the Twitter team with a number of Twitter-themed elements like birds and @ symbols. The space is simple and clean, but I think that you should check out some of the pictures that were posted to the web by Twitter employees below and say what you think about the new offices in a comment below. – Photos via Twitter Flickr Account

The pictures below represent the Elleray Preparatory School located in UK, in the Lake District National Park, to be more specific. The fascinating thing about this design is its low negative effects on the environment due to a series of elements that make it a sustainable building. Made from materials that were recycled and equipped with solar panels, the Treehouse school has an impressive exterior design and the fact that it is suspended really caught our attention. Not only does this building a nice sight for soar eyes, but it is also a wonderful example of environmental behaviour to give to the future generations. And because of its attractive shape, I’m sure kids from all over the UK are going to want to study here. Via – Inhabitat
